Abstract

In the device, adjacent limbs (20, 21) of two limb-type cores (22, 23) can be encircled by the winding (24) to be tested. One limb-type core (22) is provided with an exciter winding (33) and the other limb-type core (23) is provided with a sensing winding (36) with connected indicating device (37). So that windings with a very high number of turns can also be properly tested for shorter turns or layers by means of such a testing device, an auxiliary winding (24) is placed onto the two adjacent limbs (20, 21) and a calibration device (27) which is adjustable with respect to the phase angle of an emitted current is connected to this auxiliary winding. The device is mainly suitable for testing primary windings with a high number of turns of voltage transformers.
