Abstract

PURPOSE: To save transportation energy by moving a heat treatment furnace having heating zones and soaking zones on an annular path thereby performing heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: A coil 15 to be heat-treated or having been heat-treated passes under an annular track 4, passes the underground pit 13 succeeding to the front- post-process, and is carried onto and out from the annular track 4 through the opening part 14 of the track 4 by a freely slewable conveying crane 12 for coils slewing around the center of the track 4. The carrying-in and out of the coil 15 is accomplished by a uniform handling irrespective of the position movement of the furnace inlet and outlet accompanying to the movement of a heat-treatment furnace 1 by using this crane 12. The furnace 1 consists of a heating zone 1-A, a soaking zone 1-B and a cooling zone 1-C. Between the soaking zone 1-B and cooling zone 1-C and between the outlet side and inlet side of the heat treatment furnace are partitioned by the double doors one of which is a vertically sliding type door and the other is a separation type sliding door, thus the mingling of the heat treatment atmospheres between the respective zones and the mingling of the outside air and the furnace inside do not occur.
