Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a laddle conveying passage and simplify refining treatment of a furnace outside by a method wherein molten steel produced from a converter is received in a laddle and conveyed to a molten steel treating apparatus constituted by a storing line and a treating line at both sides thereof to successively carry out heating, adding of a refining agent and vacuum degassing treatment. CONSTITUTION:On both sides of a storing line 2 comprising a moving card 41 running on a rail 43, a first treating line 1 comprising a heating apparatus 7, a KAT apparatus (adding a refining agent such as CaC2 or Ca-Si) 8 and a vacuum degassing apparatus 9 and a second treating line 3 comprising a heating apparatus 7' and a vacuum degassing apparatus 9' are installed in a parallel manner. Firstly, a laddle 5 receiving molten steel issued from a converter is conveyed onto a cart 41 of the storing line 2 by a crane 6. Subsequently, said laddle 5 is transferred to a cart 4 or 42 of a necessary treating line and, when heating, KAT treatment and degassing are carried out, treated by the first treating line 1 and, when KAT treatment is not necessary, treated by the second treating line 3 and conveyed to a succeeding casting procedure. Said laddle may be treated by moving said laddle on a treating apparatus arranged in a circular ring like arrangement along a circumferential direction.
