Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Antibiotic substance octapeptin D composed of octapeptin D1W D4 of formulas IWIV (a-C11h3 is β-hydroxyantiisoundecanoic acid; Ser is serine; Dab is α,β-diaminobutyric acid; Leu is leucine;→is peptide bond; i-C10h3 is β- hydroxyisodecanoic acid; n-C10h3 is β-hydroxydecanoic acid; i-C11h3 is β-hydroxyisoundecanoic acid).
USE: Drug, animal drug, disinfectant, etc. having activity against Gram-negative bacteria.
PROCESS: For example, octapeptin D-producing bacteria belonging to Bacillus genus, e.g. JP-301 strain (FERM-P No.5003) are cultured at pH5.5W8.5 and 32W37°C, pref. in a liquid medium under aerobic conditions. The accumulated octapeptin D is separated from the medium.
