Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently brake an electrically driven car and a trail-car by providing a digitally electrically controlled brake arrangement which enables braking forces to be distributed differently to both cars such that rise of a brake cylinder pressure of the electrically driven car is limited to a level of less than a predetermined number of braking instruction steps while it is limited to a number of braking instruction steps larger than the predetermined number of steps.
CONSTITUTION: A digitally electrically controlled brake arrangement includes contacts SBR1W3 which are turned on and off by selective energization of relays controlled by a brake controller not shown. The contacts are arranged in combination and selectively energize train drawing-in lines SB1W3 through respective amplifiers 8W10 to thus control magnet valves 11W13 interposed in duct lines between a compressed air generating source 14 and a brake cylinder 16. In this case, the drawing- in lines SB1W3 are both for an M car (an electrically driven car) and a T car (a trail-car) while the amplifiers 8W10 are only for the M car and hence further amplifiers 22, 23 are provided for the T car. As is conventional, the M car is provided with an electric brake device 20 and an electro-pheumatic converting valve 21.
