Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the spread of spectrum, by making symmetrical the phase change in leading and trailing of the modulation signal input, and making the shape of slope arbitrarily. CONSTITUTION:The output of a carrier oscillation section 10 outputting the phase shifted in n-phase, is fed to a carrier gain control circuit 11 maoing AM modulation via a frequency divider 8. The modulation signal 2 is shaped to the trapezodial waveform at a wave shape circuit 14 and fed to the circuit 11. The circuit 11 is controlled with the output of the frequency divider 11, i.e., the carrier gain control signal for AM modluation. The AM-modulated signal is synthesized at an amplitude synthesizer 12 and output via a multiplier 13. Thus, since the modulation input signal is controlled after being shaped into symmetrical trapezoid, the spread of spectrum can be minimized.
