Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the accuracy for inspection of the defects on the medial capsule surface, by turning the dapsule to be inspected with the air current jetted from air jetting nozzle and giving a spiral scanning on the entire external circumference surface of the capsule in relation to the rotation of a carrier drum. CONSTITUTION:The capsules 8 stored temporarily in the capsule supply chamber 2 are supplied one by one into the pocket 13 provided on the circumference of the carrier drum 3 which turns in the direction A with a fixed speed. The pocket 13 arriving near the photosensor 4 is connected to the air tank 16, and the capsule 8 floats up and has a high-speed rotation by the air current jetted through the nozzle 13c. On the other hand, the light is irradiated from the lamp 4a through the optical lens 4b, and the quantity of the reflected light is measured by the photosensor 4'd via the optical lens 4c. Thus the external circumference surface of the capsule 8 is scanned entirely and spirally. As a result, the defective capsules are discharged to the discharging shute 6a for the defective capsule, and the nondefective capsules are discharged to the discharging shute 7a for the nondefective capsule respectively.
