Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out the measurement of the wind velocity and at the same time enable the power supply, by adding the arithmetic unit which calculates the wind velocity from the rotational frequency and the output of the windmill to the aerovane-type wind gauge.
CONSTITUTION: Windmill 1 is connected to generator 4 via each output axle 2 and change gear mechanism 3. Generator 4 supplies the power to load 6 via electrical output meter 5. Receiving rotational frequency N measured through tachometer 7 and measurement output P sent from meter 5, arithmetic unit 8 calculates wind velocity V. Accordingly, velocity V is calculated with input of measured rotational frequency N and generator output P by storing previously the relationship among rotational frequency N, windmill output W and wind velocity V each into unit 8 for the wind velocity measuring device. In such way, the wind velocity can be measured via the output of the generator.
