Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to accurately meter the flow rate up to a low flow rate with the use of a single differential pressure generating mechanism by varying a flow rate coefficient K as a function of the output of an evolution calculator under a preset flow rate.
CONSTITUTION: A pipe 1 for making a liquid flow therethrough is equipped with a differential pressure generating mechanism 2 for generating a differential pressure corresponding to the flow rate, and there are generated by a differential pressure transmitter 3 electric signals proportional to the differential pressure, the square root of which is calculated by an evolution calculator 4. The output of the calculator 4 is fed to an evolution calculator 5 and a multiplier 6, and the flow rate coefficient K from the calculator 5 and the output of the calculator 4 are multiplied by the multiplier 6 thereby to produce flow rate signals. In this case, if the metered flow rate is higher than a preset value, the flow rate coefficient expressed by the ratio between the true flow rate and the metered flow rate takes a preset value. At a low flow rate region, the flow rate coefficient, which is compensated by the calculator 5 and which is gradually augmented, is used so that the accurate flow rate can always be metered even at the low flow rate.
