Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a good printing quality right after the start of the printing in a dot printer which conducts printing in a manner to adhere ink to the end of a wire, by a method wherein the wire is driven at a time when a printing head is located in a home position.
CONSTITUTION: When a printing head 1, which moves through the rotation of a drive shaft 27, at the home position distant from a printing sheet 25, a forward- acting pump 16 for ink feeding is actuated by a power source ON for feeding ink to the printing head 1, and simultaneously, a wire 2 is driven . Afterwards, the printing head 1 is moved to the right by a motor 34 to start printing. The wire 2 has already been driven and new ink is adhered to the wire 2, whereby, even after suspending printing for a long period of time, a blur in the printing due to the drying of ink, which is apt to occur immediately after the resumption of printing can be prevented.
