Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a brazed part of high airtightness, durability, and corrosion resistance by applying ultrasonic waves from the outside while supplying a braze material in a molten state to a faying gap, or to the molten braze material which has been supplied thereto.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of brazing base materials, such as metal plates or metal pipes, of a large joining area, ultrasonic waves are applied to the braze material in a molten state, from the outside. This causes cavitation in the molten braze, thereby finely and uniformly breaking down and dispersing the voids produced in the molten metal. At the same time, the greater portions thereof are dissipated from the faying gap, thus the joined part of high airtightness, durability and corossion resistance is obtained.
