Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent picture quality from deteriorating by preventing a disused component from mixing into a signal for frequency conversion of a chrominance signal, by obtaining the frequency converting signal from a variable frequency oscillator in a color signal processing circuit of a magnetic video recorder. CONSTITUTION:The output (frequency: fc+40fH where fc is chrominance subcarrier frequency) of variable frequency oscillator 18 varying in frequency with the phase difference between horizontal synchronizing signals (frequency: fH) obtained by phase comparator 10 is inputted to frequency-converting multiplier 4 for the chrominance signal and multiplied by the other input chrominance subcarrier, and the output of the multiplication is inputted to low-pass filter 5 to obtain difference signal 40fH. The signal for frequency-converting the chrominance signal into a low-frequency band is obtained by the variable frequency oscillator as mentioned above. Consequently, no disused component mixes into the multiplier output and nothing is mixed into the FM luminance signal band and color signal band, so that the deterioration of reproduced video is prevented.
