Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent wear and degradation of the metallic Permalloy and improve resistance to wear of the slider itself, by forming a protection film on the slider face of the head opposite to the medium. CONSTITUTION:A metallic Permalloy is used for core part 11, and slider parts 12 and 12' dependent upon nonmagnetic materials are caused to adhere to core part 11 by low-melting point glass. Alumina thin film or SiO2 or barium titanate thin film 17 is formed on face 16 of sliders 12 and 12', where the exposure part of the metallic Permalloy of the head included, opposite to medium 1 by sputter vapor deposition and so on.
