Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an equal capacity of a fan both in the 50Hz region and in the 60Hz region, by forming an inlet port and an outlet port at opposite end portions of a partition wall, and changing the length of the air passage from the inlet port to the outlet port.
CONSTITUTION: In a 50Hz region, the revolutional speed of a fan is reduced to 5/6 of that in a 60Hz region. In consideration of this fact, the length of an air passage 12 is increased to such an extent as to augment the reduction in the revolutional speed of the fan. The air passage from the first intake port 14 to an outlet port 15 is used for the 50Hz region, and the second intake port 19 is selected at a position capable of obtaining an equal capacity in the 60Hz region. In case of using the fan in a 50Hz region, the second intake port 19 is closed by a proper attachment. Similarly, in case of using the fan in a 60Hz region, the air passage from the first intake port 14 to the second intake port 19 is closed by a proper attachment 22. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to control the capacity of a fan in the 50Hz region and that in the 60Hz region to be equal to each other.
