Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the ship adapted to her own situation promptly by a method wherein one of a plurality of controlling modes in accordance with the situation of the ship is selected corresponding to a result of the sensing of the situation of the own ship to correct a result of an observation and change a steering detail in accordance with the mode.
CONSTITUTION: A control mode selecting device 1 determines based on a ship's inclination information and a ship's speed information given from an inclination sensor 2 and a ship's speed sensor 3 respectively whether the present situation of the ship is in a normal sailing condition, a rough weather sailing condition or in a capsizing condition and outputs the situation signal thereof. This situation signal is sent to either one of a normal sailing control circuit 4, a rough weather sailing control circuit 5 or a capsize restoring control circuit 6 corresponding to the contents of the situation signal. The control circuits 4, 5 output correcting informations for effecting correcting operations corresponding to each situation with respect to a result of an oceanic observation obtained by an oceanic information observation machanism 7 respectively and command the details of steering corresponding to each situation to an automatic steering mechanism 8 simultaneously. The control circuit 6 outputs a signal informing the capsizing condition to the base and commands the detail of steering for returning to the normal condition or the like to the mechanism 8.
