Abstract

PURPOSE: To control an automatic pilot for a ship not for maintaining the pointer but for navigating on a predetermined route, by entering position data from a loran.
CONSTITUTION: Data on the position of a ship are applied to a terminal 7 from a loran receiver and entered into the first subtracter 11 through a navigation azimuth and distance calculator 10. A signal from a destination azimuth setting unit 12 is also entered into the subtracter 11. The difference between both the entered signals is applied to a sine calculator 13. The sine of the difference is applied to a multiplier 14 to make the product of the sine with the navigation distance. The product is applied to a proportional calculator 15. A signal from a gyrocompass is entered together with a signal from the destination azimuth setting unit 12 into a PID calculator 4. The outputs of the calculators 4, 15 are added together by an adder 16. The added signal is applied to a steering unit to steer a rudder. Since the data on the position of the ship are used for control, the ship can be navigated on a predetermined route even if the ship receives an external force.
