Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain soft Al foil having specified low elongation and specified high yield strength by full annealing Al foil of 99.9% purity contg. a specified amount of impurities followed by stretching by a predetermined extent.
CONSTITUTION: Al foil of 99W<99.9wt% purity contg. ≤0.8wt% each and ≤ 1wt% in total of impurities is full annealed and stretched by 1W10% by applying tension to obtain special soft Al foil having properties such as 3W8% elongation and 3.5W8.5kg/mm2 yield strength. Because of the full annealing this Al foil is free from the problem of residual rolling oil and is easily handled. The low elongation and high yield strength make this foil suitable for printing requiring pitch control of high accuracy.
