Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a film for photoengraving in which scanning lines are invisible by forming the shape of the spot for exposure to be exposed on the film of a photoengraving scanner into the shape suited for TV signals. CONSTITUTION:At the time of performing exposure on the film of a photoengraving scanner, the shape of a light source on the film is made into the specific shape to make the scanning lines invisible on the film. Namely, the width (a) of the spot in the direction normal to the scanning direction has a value sufficient to negate the scanning lines, e.g. the value 2-3 times the space between the scanning lines and the width (b) of the spot in the scanning direction has a value to sufficiently maintain the resolving power possessed by the television signals. If such spot for exposure is used for a photoengraving scanner, the film for photoengraving in which the scanning lines are invisible may be obtained. It is also possible to make the shape of the spot for exposure into an elliptical shape of the same aspect ratio.
