Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase ion supply capacity by using a corona generating excitation power source for making plural electrode groups carry out corona discharge as a predetermined pulse voltage excitation power source having an extremely small pulse width to stabilize the corona discharge.
CONSTITUTION: The corona discharge eledctrode groups 5a, 6a, 7a, 5b, 6b, 7b, 5c, 6c, 7c of each plane electrode assembly belonged to imaginary planes A, B, C respectively are connected to output terminals 15, 18 of the high voltage pulse voltage excitation power sources 13, 14 as described below through respective common leads 12a, 12b, 12c. Then, aforementioned pulse voltage excitation power sources 13, 14 generate sharp rising pulse voltage having an extremely small pulse width of 1nsW1ms to cause aforementioned corona discharge electrode groups 5aW 7a or the like to generate the predetermined AC corona discharge. Thereby, if a distance between electrodes is small, the stabilized strong corona discharge can be carried out without generating sparks and the ion supply capacity can be increased remarkably.
