Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an igniting apparatus for combustor, capable of making it unnecessary to exchange a battery and feeding sufficiently high voltage to an igniting element, by charging to a secondary battery the thermoelectromotive force produced by a thermocouple means consisting of a plurality of thermocouples connected in series to each other.
CONSTITUTION: Thermoelectromotive force produced by a thermocouple means 4 consisting of a plurality of series-connected thremocouples is charged to a secondary battery 2 which impresses a voltage to an igniting element 1. The thermocouple means 4 produces thermoelecromotive force by receiving heat from a combustion sleeve 8, and the thermoelectromotive force thus produced is charged to the secondary battery 2 to keep it at a predetermined voltage. According to the above arrangement, the battery 2 is charged throughout the period while the fuel is combusted, so that electricity consumed for igniting fuel by the secondary battery 2 can be supplemented by the thermocouple means 4 and the terminal voltage of the battery 2 can be kept constant, thereby making the exchanging of the battery unnecessary.
