Abstract
PURPOSE:To continuously produce a soft sheet free from any oxide in a short equipment line by passing the high-temp. sheet, which is obtd. by pouring molten metal onto a rotary drum surface then cooling the same to solidify, through the inside of a nonoxidizing aqueous soln. continuously, and further cooling the same then annealing this sheet. CONSTITUTION:Molten metal 3 in a furnace 2 is poured upward onto the rotary drum 6 surface under predetermined pressure and is cooled to solidify on the drum 6 surface, whereby a sheet 7 of high temp. is formed. Next, the sheet 7 separated from the drum 6 is passed through the inside of a cooling vessel 15 which is disposed in proximity, where it is cooled by a nonoxidizing alkali soln. 18. Thence, the cooled sheet 7 is cold rolled 23 to align its crystals and the work hardened sheet is passed through the inside of an annealing furnace 2 filled with an N2 gas etc. of 750-950 deg.C, whereby the soft sheet of more uniform structure is obtd. Further this sheet is skin-pass rolled, after which it is continuously wound by a coiler 27.
