Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a soft sheet free from any oxide continuously with a good yield from molten metal in a short equipment line by passing the high-temp. sheet, which is obtd. by pouring the molten metal onto rotary drum surface and cooling the same to solidify, into a pickling soln. to descale the same then annealing this sheet. CONSTITUTION:Molten metal 3 in a furnace 2 is poured upward onto the rotary drum 6 surface by controlled pressure and is cooled to slidify, whereby a sheet 7 of high temp. is formed. Next, the sheet 7 separated from the drum 6 is passed through the inside of a pickling vessel 15 to remove oxides such as FeO on the surface thereof by means of a pickling soln. 18 comprising essentially sulfuric acid etc. Thence, the sheet 7 having been descaled and cooled down to about 60-80 deg.C is cold rolled 23 to align its crystals. The work hardened sheet 7 is quided into an annealing furnace 24 which is filled with an N2 gas of 750-950 deg.C, where it is annealed to the soft sheet of more uniform structure. Further, this sheet is skin-pass rolled and is thence wound continuously by a coiler 27.
