Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a uniformly covered composite wirecord extruded from a die, by joining a covering material and a wire core at the terminal of a passage for covering material enclosed by the peripheral surface of a wheel and fixed shoe block.
CONSTITUTION: A covering material 5 is fed into a transport passage 6 which is formed as enclosed by an endless groove 2 made on the peripheral surface of a movable wheel 1 and a fixed shoe block 4. Then a big contact friction resistance generated between a rotating movable wheel 1 and a groove 2 exerts an extruding force to the covering material 5. The covering material 5 is branched to both sides of a die holder 11 at the primary part of a passage 15 for the covering material before the receiving part 7 of a passage 6 and joined again at a junction room 14. At this time, the covering material 5 encloses with uniform pressure a core wire 9 being fed through a nipple 8 of the die holder 11 and is then extruded from a die 12 and a composite wirecord 16 is obtained.
