Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the existence and position of peeling of a lining in an early stage to be inspected over a wide range in a short time by combining the suction and acoustically detecting methods.
CONSTITUTION: To detect peeling of a lining layer 2, sealing plugs 4 and 5 are provided in a piping 1 to separate a section 6 to be inspected from the open air. Then, by using a vacuum pump the air is exhausted from the section 6 through an exhaust piping 9 attached to the plug 4. When deformed, the lining layer 2 generates an acoustic wave, which detected by a sound-detecting sensor 10 mounted on the piping 1 and processed by an A/E means 11 or the like to sense the existence and position of peel.
