Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce erronous signal by a method wherein a signal of 1Hz or less of an acoustic emission (AE) during a cutting work is picked up, and a reference signal which is obtained by adding a proper bias signal to the aforementioned signal is compared with an envelope detection of the AE signal, and if it exceeds a reference signal, an abnormality information signal is sent out.
CONSTITUTION: The acoustic emission (AE) during cutting work is detected through an AE sensor 1, passes through an amplifier 2, an absolute value amplifier 3 and enters an LPF4 having a cut off of for example, 1Hz. And it is output from the LPF4 as a signal B indicating a break state of a chip and is entered into an adder 5 wherein a proper bias D is added to become a comparison reference signal E, then, this signal enters a comparator 7. Whereas, an AE signal output from an absolute value amplifier 3 passes through an LPF having a cut off of 1kHz, becomes an envelope detection signal C of the AE signal, enters the comparator 7 to be compared with the reference signal E. And if the compared result exceeds an E, an abnormality information signal F is output. With this, erronous signals can be reduced.
