Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent discoloration and fading, especially deterioration due to light, by forming a layer containing ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer for shielding oxygen on a photographic support. CONSTITUTION:A layer of 0.5-100mu thickness containing ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer having units represented by formula I and II is formed as an oxygen shielding layer to form a photographic support. When it is formed on one side of the film, it is advantageous to form it on the side reverse to the photographic layers. Ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer containing 10-90mol%, preferably 26-45mol%, ethylene units is desirable for said purpose, and for example ''EVAL E, EVAL F '' etc. made by Kuraray are used.
