CONSTITUTION: In cultivating a bacterium belonging to the genus Thermus, e.g., Thermus thermophilus, Thermus flavus, etc., in a combined medium, one comprising 0.1W5wt%, preferably 1W3wt% glutamate, especially sodium glumatmate as a carbon and nitrogen sources, and, if necessary, 0.5W5wt% maltose or sucrose is used as the carbon source.
