Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled glass plate having light transmittance dependent with the incidence angle of the light, by furnishing opaque stripes having specific width to the surface of a glass plate.
CONSTITUTION: Both surfaces of a transparent glass plate 1 are furnished with a number of grooves 2, 2' having specific width τ at a regular pitch T. The grooves 2, 2' are filled with a black dye mixed with an adhesive to form opaque stripes 3, 3'. When the incidence angle θ to the visual point A is 0°, the light attenuation is minimum (defined by τ/T), and the attenuation increases with increasing θ, until θ reaches (T-τ)/t (t is thickness of the glass plate). For θ larger than the limit, the incident light is completely shielded and the glass plate posseses the perfect shielding function.
