Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep a heat transfer quantity constant and to consecutively treat a given amount of waste liquid in an evaporator for solidifying radioactive waste liquid, by a method wherein an over all heat transfer coefficient is indirectly found based on detected data, and a temperature of heat medium is controlled corresponding to said coefficient.
CONSTITUTION: Radiocative waste liquid from a waste liquid storage tank 1 flows into an evaporation mixing device 2 as the quentity of said liquid flow is measured by a flow detector F, and moisture therein is evaporated by making contact with a molten asphalt, whereby molten salts are left. The moisture passing through a mist catcher 3 is condensed for separation, and remaining solid is mixed into asphalt. The heat medium, heating the evaporation mixing device 2, returns to a heater 4 to be reheated thereat and recycles. The amount of the waste liquid feed w, mixing degree t, and average value T of the inlet and outlet temperature of the heat medium are input to a main computing unit, and a set temperature vector T is consecutively computed, based on a target vector w of liquid feed amount and a target vector t of the mixing temperature. The amount of heat to be fed to the heat medium heater 4 is controlled according to the output of the computor.
