Abstract
PURPOSE: To subject a ply terminal securely to turnup and pressure welding by forming a space to accept a stitcher wheel between a drum flange and a platter at the time of bore contraction.
CONSTITUTION: A drum is contracted in bore to stick the first ply P1 on a drum flange 1, the drum is then expanded to ply-down, a bead 34 is contacted to a bend of a ply terminal 35 by bead setter 15, the air is fed through an admission/exhaust port 31 into a turnup platter 21 mounted on outer periphery of annular platter bearing 20, and thus both convexities 28, 29 are expanded. Then, the terminal 35 is contacted with the convexity 28 rising in the direction indicated by arrow 36 and turned up outwardly from inner periphery of the bead in accordance as a concavity 30 rises. After the platter 21 is expanded completely, an outside of the platter 21 is pushed with the bead setter 15, and the terminal 35 is pressed onto an outer periphery of the ply P1 to complete the turnup. Then, after a ply P2 and a finishing 37 are sticked, a curring device 38 is actuated to turn a stitcher wheel 39 to curring around the bead.
