Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the high speed durability of a radial tire by providing the carcass of the tire in naturally balanced state in the region from the maximum width position toward the bead and in theoretically balanced state in the residual region when the tire is inflated.
CONSTITUTION: The carcass 6 of this radial tire is provided in naturally balanced shape under virtual condition that it is inflated in the tire 1 to bear internal pressure without any restriction from a belt layer 7 in the internal half region from the maximum carcass width position W toward the bead in the side portion 3, preferably in the region in contact with the vicinity of the outer periphery of the bead wire 5 when the tire 1 is inflated and in theoretically balanced shape formed when the carcass 6 does not bear the force except for the reaction of the belt layer 7 and the internal pressure when the tire 1 is inflated in the residual region from the maximum carcass width position W toward the tread 2, namely, in the external half region of the side portion 3.
