PURPOSE:To smoothly move the picture position of an echo image, by erasing the picture information at the input buffer. CONSTITUTION:When the picture position to be moved is set by the picture position signal generation unit 13, a digital signal which takes the value of 0-2N-1corresponding to the set picture position is output as a preset data to the address counter 12a of the input buffer control unit 12 from the code converter 15. In case when the value of N-n is set as a preset data, the memory contents of the input buffer 3 are erased while a rate pulse is generated in the transmitter and receiver unit 1, and after that, the address counter 12a starts to count a sampling pulse of the echo signal by the preset data N-n, and the count value before 2N-n-1 is provided to the input buffer as the address.
