Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically practice the welding procedure by means of remote controlling and promoto the work efficiency as well as decrease the change of exposures of operators to a laser beam, by introducing a laser beam from the outside to the inside of a housing and practicing the welding along the inside circumferential surface. CONSTITUTION:The welding between a housing 1 and a pressure vessel for nuclear reactor 2 is practiced from the inside of the vessel 2. A laser beam 4 emitted from a laser generator 3 changes its traveling path by a reflection mirror 6, travels along the center line of the housing 1 and condenses by means of a condenser mirror 7 to a point where the repair welding of the housing 1 is required and thus that point is worked by melt-welding. As the condenser mirror 7 is rotated by means of condenser mirror rotating device 8, the focusing point of a laser beam moves along the inside circumferential surface of the housing 1 and the welding between the housing 1 and the pressure vessel for atomic reactor 2 is continuously practiced. Thus, the welding work is automatically continued by controlling equipment for setting the position of a condenser mirror traveling undevice 9 and controlling the opening and closing of a shutter belonging to the laser generator 3 and the motion of the condenser mirror rotating device 8.
