Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the development of vertical cracks in pipe at the end of driving without using friction cutter as being used in the excavation driving method in the laying of a hollow pile.
CONSTITUTION: A shallow hole 10 is bored in an excavation point and then a head 5 is provided. Auger 3 is thrust into a pile 1 and erected right above the head 5. The lower end of the pile 1 is contacted with the head 5, the auger 3 is turned and driven to a supporting layer 11 while keeping a given distance l between the head 5 and the pile 1. Then, the auger 3 is reveresely turned, the head 5 is disconnected from the auger 3, and then a pressure is applied from the upper tip of the pile 1 so as to make its lower tip contact with the head 5. Afterwards, a pressure is further applied from the upper tip of the pile 1 to drive it further and then the auger 3 is pulled out of the pile 1.
