Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a pulse voltage output to reproduce the digital signal recorded on a magnetic recording medium, by giving rise to the jump phenomenon of a large- amplitude magnetization curve to perform high-speed magnetic switching in magnetic materials of the magnetic head.
CONSTITUTION: Magnetic head 9 uses Wiegand effect magnetic switch element 1 as a detecting element. According to increment and reduction of the magnetic field, which enters from window part 23 of magnetic head 9, dependent upon running of magnetic tape 25, the jump phenomenon of a large-amplitude magnetization curve is caused in magnetic switch element 1, and instantaneous inversion of the magnetic flux, namely, the high-speed magnetic switching phenomenon is performed. Therefore, a pulse voltage having a high peak value is induced in coil 10 wound around magnetic switch element 1. After amplified by amplifier 31, the output of magnetic head 9 is separated into positive pulses and negative pulses by separating circuit 32 and is applied to flip-flop circuit 33, and a series digital signal is demodulated at output terminal 34.
