Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the automatic setting of the recording current level to the optimum level by changing sequentially the recording current level according to the output of the counter which counts the clock signals, reproducing current level to detect the peak point of the reproduction signal level and then setting the count value of the counter to the level equivalent to the peak point. CONSTITUTION:The clock generation circuit generates the clock signals in synchronization with the cycle signal of the video signal. And counter 21 counts these clock signals. Recording current adjuster circuit 14 gives the sequential change to the recording current level to be recorded on the magnetic recording medium and in accordance with the output of counter 21. Peak detection circuit 17 detects the peak point of the reproduction signal level sent from the magnetic recording medium. Thus the count value of counter 21 is set to the value equivalent to the peak point of the reproduction signal level in accorance with the output of the peak detection circuit.
