Abstract
PURPOSE: To make up for insufficient brake force throughout the vehicle when any one system fails by raising the liquid pressure at a limit point in the normal system with an increase in the force of a tension spring depending on the differential pressure between two systems in a control piston determining the limit points in the elevation of the liquid pressure.
CONSTITUTION: As soon as a liquid pressure is transmitted to input liquid chambers a1 and b1, it works on control pistons 71 and 72 so that the pistons 71 and 72 separately move to the side of a plug 3 depending on the difference in the liquid pressure between input liquid chambers a1 and b1 and output liquid chambers a2 and b2. When the liquid pressure reaches a fixed level, the pisons 71 and 72 engage with seats 101 and 102 at the large diameter section to isolate the communication between the input and output liquid pressure chambers. Thereafter, the output rises slowly with respect to the input at a given rate determined by the difference in a pressure receiving area of the pistons 71 and 72 facing the input and output chambers. When the right system fails, a differential pressure pushes a planger 6 to the right causing the piston 72 to hit the seat of a hole 52 thereby stretching a tension spring 8. Therefore, the piston 71 performs control in slow rise at the break point as it does in normal operation but the liquid pressure level becomes larger than that in the normal operation.
