Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a radial tire which is excellent in lightness, fuel cost efficiency, and operability in particular by improving the structure of a breaker belt layer to be inserted into the lower part of a tread.
CONSTITUTION: A breaker belt layer 6 consists of two breaker belt layers 6A and 6B composed of textile code and a rubber and a layer formed by winding a textile code 6c in the line of tire. The first breaker belt layer 6A and the second breaker belt layer 6B have both a Young's modulus of 50W500g/d, and the textile code 6c has a Young's modulus of 35W500g/d and is formed by being wound at an angle of 5° or less to the line of tire. The pitch of turns in the tire crown portion P1 is rough but that in both shoulder portions of tire is dense. Thus, a tire having light weight and better operability can be obtained.
