Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the creeping insulation breakdown strength of a rotary field winding in which a vent hole is formed from the bottom of the slot thereof toward an opening by providing an insulating layer between the wedge insulator and the winding except the vent hole, thereby increasing the creeping distance between the wedge and the winding conductor. CONSTITUTION:In the field winding in which a cooling gas flowing slot is opened at the bottom of the winding slot and a vent hole is opened between the slot and the winding conductor 5 toward the radial outside, the insulating layer 11 is formed between the insulator 2 and the winding conductor 5 except the vent hole part between the conductors. Thus, the creeping distance between the wedge 1 and the conductor 5 can be increased without increasing the thickness of the insulator 2, thereby improving the creeping insulation breakdown strength.
