Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled pump which delivers and pressurizes ink economically, has a small number of component parts and can be miniaturized by a method wherein the ink is absorbed in and pressurized by a plunger operated by a magnet and a spring. CONSTITUTION:The plunger 21 is operated by the repeated supply and cut-off of a current flowing into the magnet coil 20, and the ink sucked into a pump chamber 24 is pressurized by the elastic force of the spring 31 storing energy. When the pressure in an air chamber becomes equal to that in the pump chamber 24, the ink is pressurized and a check valve 26 on the side of the air chamber does not open, so that a constant pressure is maintained. When the ink pressure applied to a jet nozzle is to be changed, the length of the spring 31 is changed by use of a pressure- adjusting screw 27.
