Abstract

PURPOSE: To separate carbonaceous substances from deteriorated catalyst without giving a substantial change to the catalyst by a method wherein a mineral oil is added to a catalyst deteriorated by hydrogenating treatment of mineral oils, then a hydrogenation treatment is performed at a temperature lower than the previous hydrogenating treatment.
CONSTITUTION: A catalyst deteriorated by a precipitated carbonaceous substances is extracted together with produced oils or a catalyst separated from the produced oils is added with a mineral oil as a medium. This is, if required, added with the second catalyst in which V, Mo, etc. are carried by porous alumina carrier, etc., and undergoes a hydrogenating treatment under high hydrogen pressure at a temperature lower than that at the hydrogenation for the reaction. By this process, the carbonaceous substances are converted into oils and thus can be removed. The catalyst freed from carbonaceous substances can be used as regenerated catalyst, either as it is or after metals stacked on the catalyst are removed.
