Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable easily sense flow speed at an optional measuring point by a method wherein a sensing section provided with an ultrasonic wave trasmitter and plurality wave receivers or a wave receiver having an output terminal is constituted in one pice of film shape for using it winding round. CONSTITUTION:In front of a transmitter set up on a film-like substrate 11 a receiver 13a is arranged facing it, further the receivers 13b, 13c... are juxtaposed by turns on one side thereof. Such sensing section is wound around the outer wall of the pipe 15, in which the fluid 14 flows. When the fluid stands still, the ultrasonic waves radiated from the transmitter 12 advance in the direction shown by a broken arrow 18, while when the fluid flows, said waves advance in the direction of the arrow 19. The receiving signals of the receivers 13a... enter a peak position detection circuit 20 and the receiver of the strongest signals is discriminated. The output thereof is put in a flow speed arithmetic circuit 22 and compared with the signals of the transmitter 12 passed through the delay time measuring circuit 21 to compute the flow speed. Consequently the flow speed at an optional point can easily be known.
