PURPOSE:To inexpensively manufacture porous network-structural metal bodies of a desired form in large quantities by putting a synthetic resin of an arbitrary form having a three-dimensional irregular network structure with continuous pores into a vacuum depositing apparatus, forming a metal vacuum deposited film on the resin surface, and removing the resin. The form may be cylindrical, disclike or conical. A metal vacuum deposited film of Cu, Al, Ni, Fe, Ag, Cr or the like is formed on the resin surface, and the resin is removed by melting at a high temp. or dissolution in chemicals. Thus, porous network metal bodies of a desired form are obtd. more inexpensively in larger quantities as compared to a conventional method. This method is suitable for manufacturing speaker cones. etc.
