Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain the maximum breaking strength and best frequency stability by bearing prescribed relations among resonance branch widths to legths from tips of -X-side and +X-side resonators, resonance branch widths to the rest lengths, and respective lengths. CONSTITUTION:Quartz piece 3 consists of resonance part 3a and base 3b. Then, the resonance branch width size is w1 for length l1 from the tip resonance part of -X-side resonance branch 3a, and the counterpart is W2 for the remaining l2. On the other hand, the resonance branch width size is W3 for length l3 from the tip resonance part of +X-side resonance branch 3a and W4 for the remining length l4. In this case, the overall lengths of the -X-side and +X-side resonators are equal and l2>l1. Then when l2=W1/2...2W and l4=W3/2...2W3, the maximum breaking strength and the best frequency stability can be obtained.
