PURPOSE:To freely control a direction and a speed and enable accurate positioning, by providing a speed command and a detected speed with polarity corresponding to their proceeding directions and by determining an energizing direction in terms of the polarity of a difference detected in an original form. CONSTITUTION:When a positive constant value is set in a speed command setting unit 13, a subtracter 12 produces a positive speed deviation output and a polarity discriminator 8 supplies a signal to AND elements 7a, 7b so that driving coil 1 is energized at the forward phase with magnitude corresponding to that of the deviation output of the subtracter 12. When a negative value is set, the subtracter 12 produces a negative speed deviation output and the polarity discriminator 8 supplies a signal to other AND elements 7c, 7d so that the driving coil 1 is energized at the backward phase. According to this constitution, a direction and a speed are freely controlled to enable accurate positioning.
