Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve an S/N by a method wherein anode current pulses generated at an anode of a photoelectron amplifier which is a light receiver of photon pulse signals are directly counted in accordance with the photon pulse signals of radiant ray, and radiation image information is changed into digital signals. CONSTITUTION:A radiant ray radiated from a radiation image conversion panel 11 where a radiation image information is stored is projected into a photon multiplier tube (PMT) 16 and a photo current corresponding to the photon signals is output from the PMT 16. This output signal containing a dark current from the PMT 16 is amplified through an AC amplifier 17 and thereafter, a noise such as a dark current is eliminated through a discriminator 18, and then, only photo current is picked up, thus, it is lead into a pulse counter 19 and then, it is entered in a display unit 20, or the digital signals obtained here is entered in a memory unit 21, temporarily.
