Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:N-Substituted polydithiocarbamic thiuram sulfide of formula I [X is divalent aliphatic chain or xylylene; Y, Y' are H where the case is excluded where they are H at the same time), higher alkyl, group of formula II (m is 0W3; R is H, alkyl; R3 is H, alkyl), formula III and formula IV (R1 is H, alkyl, alkenyl)].
EXAMPLE: N-(2-Cyanoethyl)ethylene thiuram disulfide.
USE: Chemical preparation for agriculture and industry: they are stable at room temperature and when used in agriculture, they show high controlling effect with no injure to crops and animals. Further, when used in industry, they control the pollution and damage caused by mildews and other microorganisms growing on coating films and others and the pollution of cooling water caused by slime and algae.
PREPARATION: A water-soluble salt of N-substituted polydithiocarbamic acid is treated with an oxidizing agent such as nitrous acid, hydrogen peroxide or chlorine to produce a yellow or white compound of formula I.
