Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable long-term employment of the tool without slipping off during the employment by constituting the same through the cold processing so that the cutting edge member and the base body thereof are joined firmly by the concave part of the cutting edge member. CONSTITUTION:First the concave part 13 is formed in the surface of the cutting edge member 12 and the member is inserted into a hole 11' bored in the tip of the base body 11, and then the member 12 having the concave part 13 is pressed into the hole 11' of the base body 11 under the strong pressure. And further the pressure is applied from the outer periphery of the base body 11 in the direction of an arrow. Then, a part of the hole 11' of the base body 11 gets to engage in the concave part 13 of the member 12. Next, cut machining is performed along a dotted line 14, whereby the desired tool is obtained. In addition, the machining distortion is removed by applying heat treatment to the tool, while the engagement of the material of the concave part 13 of the cutting edge member 12 with that of the base body 11 is subjected to diffusion bonding according to the qualities thereof. By this constitution, the tool can be employed for a long time without slipping off of the cutting edge member during the employment.
