Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable performance of a prescribed hob cut machining by rotating synchronously a main-shaft spindle, a hob cutter spindle and a trimmer spindle and by making a hob cutting device concurrently.
CONSTITUTION: Since an idle gear 48 is constantly engaged with a gear wheel 51 even when a trimmer unit 72 and a drill unit 73 perform repeated shaking actions by the operation of a tilt operation lever 77, there is no fear of occurrence of mutual interference of teeth and breakage of teeth. In addition, the condition of engagement of gears gives no influence to the precision of teeth cutting, since the backlash between both gear wheels is reproduced in an optimal state in hob cutting. Under the condition that both ends of a work are supported, the main-shaft spindle 11, the trimmer spindle 50 and the hob cutter spindle 25 are rotated synchronously and two-dimensional feeding is given to the hob cutting device 14 by the rotation of a teeth-cutting cam shaft 16, whereby the prescribed hob cut machining is performed.
