Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate a faulty tooth shape and the like due to the slippage phenomenon of the clutch by a method wherein a pawl clutch is adopted as a rotation transmitting means for the hob cut machining and further the complete synchronous rotation of a hob cutter spindle and a main-shaft spindle is made possible.
CONSTITUTION: A gear cutting device is added to the automatic lathe whereby small-diameter gears of high precision for a precision machine such as a watch are manufactured and thereby gear cutting as well as turn machining is performed by one and the same machine. Next, a movable body 36 moves slidably on the mainshaft spindle 11, together with a master gear 37, through the intermediary of the operation of a lever, thereby enabling the selective shifting of a cone form and the pawl clutches 34 and 35. Moverover, on the occasion of the gear cut machining, the hob cutter spindle 25, a spindle 11 and a trimmer spindle 50 are all rotated synchronously by a transmission system and in coordination with this a hob cutting device is made to traverse by a gear-cutting cam driving system, whereby the prescribed gear cut machining is performed. Thus, the faulty tooth shape and the like due to the slippage phenomenon of the clutch is eliminated.
